For the past elections, the Filipino youth floods social media with photos of their badge of honor – the indelible “voter’s ink” stain on their index finger, a symbol of how they fulfilled their civic duty to vote. But they need to be motivated to play a more active role in the elections by volunteering. Because by volunteering, they don’t just secure their own votes, they protect everyone else’s.
So we created a new symbol that they can proudly show off as proof of going beyond their patriotic duties - an ink stain on their middle finger.
A series of out-of-home posters that challenge the youth not just to vote, but also volunteer.
A series of Facebook posts that educate the youth on the many ways they can volunteer for the coming election.
A social media movement that acknowledges and recognizes the people who went beyond their civic duty to vote. This will continue to promote and influence the behavior of volunteering in the next elections.
Yes, having the voter’s ink is great because it means you’ve voted. But you know what’s better? Also having the volunteer’s ink - it means you volunteered and did your part in protecting the Filipinos’ votes.
